The Studio Behind Sonoran Sprinter

Sonoran Sprinter comes out of Sonoran Art, a small studio based in Oro Valley, Arizona — right in the middle of the landscape that inspires it.

Each piece starts with a real place: a stretch of the Catalinas at sunset, a summer trail dusted with fresh snow, an actual roadrunner mid-sprint down a desert road. From there, the scene gets built out, one familiar human ritual at a time, until it feels less like a joke and more like a glimpse into a town that might really exist somewhere past the last saguaro.

The goal has never been mass-produced desert clip art. It’s a genuine love for this specific landscape — its light, its wildlife, its odd sense of humor — rendered with care.

Sonoran Sprinter is created and curated by Michael Burns.
